Chugach Alaska Corporation
2022
In 2022, the Chugach Alaska Corporation celebrated 50 years of operation. The theme of their annual report, “Duality,” represented the marriage of this Alaska Native Corporation’s cultural identity and history, while centering the corporation’s purpose: to serve its people. Reflections are added throughout, from the new logo to photos of young people with ancient artifacts, to symbolize reflecting on the past while looking forward. The duality is reflected through the cover layout: on the front cover is a young woman wearing traditional clothes, and the same woman on the back in modern clothes.
Calista Corporation
2021
The Calista Corp. represents more than 33,000 shareholders, most of whom are of Yup’ik descent. In 2022, the corporation celebrated its 50th anniversary. As a nod to Calista’s history, Yuit used design elements from its original logo. The texture in the tan element is an aerial photo near Bethel, the largest village in Calista’s region. It represents the corporation’s ties to the land and traditional way of life.
Alaska Maritime Prevention & Response Network
2019
“Safe, Sustainable, Shipping” was the theme for the 2019 Annual Report. Visuals were structured around showing off the new protocols and regulations that ACN enforced with their members in an effort to keep Alaska’s waters clean and the wildlife safe and healthy. A few spreads featured layered half-pages, demonstrating how harmony can be achieved when ships can pass through Alaska’s waters without disturbing and disrupting the natural order.
